Description: This listing is for an antique sterling silver souvenir spoon from Cincinnati, Ohio made by the Shepard Manufacturing Company of Melrose Highlands, Massachusetts. They are listed as having been in business between 1893-1923. This teaspoon most likely dates to the 1890s or 1910s. Featured in the bowl is an illustration of the Tyler Davidson Fountain which was dedicated in 1873 as the centerpiece of Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. On the handle are 2 haystacks in front of some mountains and a rising sun. Below that is an eye, a sheep, a bunch of grapes, a grape leaf, and the state name of "OHIO". The back of the handle has a spread eagle with a shield holding in its talons a branch and arrows above 2 flags. The back is marked "STERLING" along with the hallmark for the Shepard Manufacturing Company. This 5 3/8" teaspoon is in wonderful antique condition. Please see the photos for more detail.
