Description: Original 19th century tintype showing two beautiful young children holding American flags. A very appealing subject! Both are wearing dresses. We think, but are not certain, that the younger child is a girl & the older child is a boy. The tintype measures 3 1/2 inches long by 2 3/8 inches wide to 2 9/16 inches wide. The front has many very very slight surface scratches. These are so subtle as to not even be visible if the photo is viewed straight on. They only show up when the photo is held at an angle in bright light. Actually, the front is very smooth & appealing to the touch. As usual for tintypes there are a few minor bends. The front is in far better condition than the majority of tintypes encountered. The back feels slightly coarse to the touch from the many tiny emulsion bubbles & a few age lines which are present. Please examine the photos closely and purchase based on your own judgement as to condition and value. This item is inventory #11,210.
