Description: Eliot, T.S. - The Confidential Clerk - Harcourt, Brace and Company: New York, 1954 - First American Edition / First Printing - “First American Edition” stated on the copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition. The book has light edge wear, some of the inevitable spine rubbing, and a name neatly penned on the front end page. The boards remain rather sharp and clean. The binding is square and firm. Internally there are some light pencil notations which can be erased but we have chosen to leave them as they speak to the history of this example as a working Review Copy. There is the publisher’s slip still neatly affixed to the front end page stating that this is a review copy and giving the publication date. The dust jacket is sunned, rubbed, edge worn and clipped but still presents well. According to Gallup there were 26,000 copies of this book in the first edition, and as such it truly isn’t uncommon unless you find something like a review copy. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted. Shipping costs can be combined if multiple purchases are made. Items will be packaged and shipped within one business day unless otherwise noted. Please always feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
