Description: Here is a first edition first printing of a title from an author who has almost a cult following around the world. This is El Juego Del Angel ( The Angel’s Game ) by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. This is a first edition first printing in Spanish as shown on the copyright page published by Vintage Espanol, which from what I can make out is a division of Random House in 2008. I do NOT read or speak Spanish but I know the number line is complete with the number “1” included as shown. This copy is in wonderful condition. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The black cloth boards are spotless and the light blue/green gilt lettering on the spine is bright and beautiful also as shown in the photos provided. All four corners are in excellent condition. And deckled edges make all the difference in my humble opinion. In the extreme inner margin of page 304 is an anti-theft device that in no way obscures any text as the images posted show. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price present but in US dollars and Canadian dollars. So I don’t know if this was printed in Spain for the American market or in the US. Again I don’t read or speak Spanish. But since Zafon is a Spanish author having a first impression of one of his most popular books would be something a collector might desire having. Zafon’s first book published in the United States was The Shadow Of The Wind and became a worldwide bestseller and remains one of my favorite first books by an author. The jacket has very little wear as there is a very light partial crease down the top portion of the spine and some light wrinkling to the upper left corner of the front panel as shown. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library.
