TRIO (Mini-LP/Promo) Trio. (German group). 1982. Mercury MX-1-509. EX

Description: Here is the German band called TRIO with their Promo copy of a mini-LP with 6 songs and title is Trio. They had sort of a hit song called Da Da Da, but it was more known in Europe than USA. This came out in 1982. Recorded in Germany, but this promo is on Mercury label (skyline label) which says 1982 Phonogram GmbH (Hamburg), but is actually manufactured and marketed by Polygram Records, Inc., in New York, NY (on the bottom back cover). The back cover upper right corner has in gold type Not For Sale/May Be Re-claimed. All Rights Reserved. But above that kind of etched in the cardboard it says LOANED FOR PROMOTION. That part is hard to see in the photo here. The record has an electronic/synth/pop sound to it. Some songs have some German sentences in them, too. The front cover has some darker aging coloring along the left side seam. There is a little tear in the side seam there, too. There is about a 4" wrinkle at the bottom left side seam. Back cover has some light brown lines across the right side seam and you can see the 4" wrinkle there, too, at the bottom right hand corner seam area. Actually, these line marks are on the front side seam at the left and right also. Record comes in a plain clear plastic inner sleeve. Side 1 of the vinyl barely has any surface scratches on it. One area had a couple small scratches near the first song and a photo of that is here, but very hard to see it because they were very light. Side 2 had only a couple light surface scratches in one area and a photo of that is here, too. This one you can see a little bit better. (Had a lot of dust on the records before I too the photos, sorry.) There were no sound problems. No skips, pops, or crackles. Played it through on my Technics system and all sounded like Mint. Here's a minute and 50-second audio/video of the first side songs so you can hear the clear great sound quality. I rate the sleeve as only Very Good (VG) due to some darker aging fade marks and big wrinkle. The vinyl gets an Excellent (EX) to even Near Mint (NM) since no skips, pops, crackles. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Feel free to email me for more information on an item. No writing or stickers on the vinyl. No obvious scratches. Label: No writing or stickers and no fading of the label. NM-: Near Mint Minus - Similar to NM but will have some very light scratches on the vinyl not affecting the sound quality. No writing or stickers on label and no fading (or ringwear) on cover or label. EX: Excellent - Not quite a Goldmine Standard Listing, but being used by many now. Cover: No ink wear, minor creases to corners, no seam tears. Vinyl can have scratches, but not felt by your fingers. Sound quality must be mint. No more than 15% of the surface should have wear or scuffs on it. To me, EX is like a VG++. VG+: Very Good Plus - Similar to NM- except that on the label, there may be a sticker or writing, but it shows very little wear. There may be only a couple light surface scratches on the grooves, but do not affect the playback with noise or skips. You may only see these scratches if you put them under a bright light and really look for them. The cover might have light creasing or minor seam or corner wear, but still in great condition to show off. VG to VG-: Very Good to Very Good Minus - May not be that shiny anymore and you will see scratches without putting it under a bright light, but they still would not affect the quality of the playback. The sound quality is still pretty good, maybe a little noise, but not enough to detract from the listening experience. The label might have some fading around it, besides having stickers or writing. The cover may have obvious ringwear in the middle or around the perimeter of where the record was, maybe some side seam splits, or little tears at the top or side where the record goes back into. If less defects, then it's a VG. If it has all this just mentioned, then a VG-. G, G+: Good or Good Plus - It doesn't mean the vinyl is trashed. It plays though without skipping, but may have heavy noise or fuzz sound because of age, quality, or worn-down grooves. Heavy writing or stickers on the label, ringwear is very obvious on label and cover probably has seam splits. But, amazingly, if you have special audio LP recording software, you could probably clean up those crackles and fuzzes, if you want to create a CD of it for yourself. P: Poor - This is when the vinyl is warped to the point it warps the playback also. Or it's cracked, but it may or may not still play without a skip. If a picture sleeve is with it, this is torn or marked up bigtime. But someone may want to have it for nostalgia or even attempt to fix it. See my other listings for more great items!
