Description: Here we have a Newtek Tricaster 460 that was upgraded from a 455.Also I have installed the latest and last available firmware version before they discontinued.Other than maybe a different video card I dont see much difference between the 455 and the 460 hardware.Software wise, the 460 is an inprovement from the 455. Im not going to copy the specs. You can get those anywhere. Here I am going to tell you what I find incredible and useful. The great things about these units is the variety of input types and the ability to mix and match resolutions. For example you have four video inputs. but the variety is handy. You can go in SDI, Component, Y/C or composite. And you can mix... like two SDI camera signals and maybe a third component... etc.Resolutions go from the SD 4x3 480i all the way up to 1920 x 1080 60i and 1920 x 1080 30PNO TBCs necessay. Genlockable. ALl inputs can be indivually Procamped for individual control of brightness contrast andcolor. Record right in the box with swapable hard drives. The 455/460 has one hard dive bay in the front that is easy to swap when that is full. IN addtion there is a second drive or partition internally for recording video as well.THe Front bay will have a 750GB internal drive NOT THE 2TB DRIVE THAT SHOWS IN THE PICTURE.ANd that drive will be wrapped separatly since NEWTEK strongly suggests to not leave in the drive bay for shipping. Record in full 422, 420, AVI or H264 mp4. Built in powerful text titlerfull video switcher with wipe effects,A full audio mixerTwo DVRs. Great for adding premade clips. Two graph channels for stills, logos etc.Two Down stream keyers. chromakeyers for live Greenscreen.ISO recording. Record your mix and a couple of the inputs separately at the same time. THe only thing that is not really useful anymore is the live streaming function due to the need for an up to date Browser andsince all the Older Tricasters were built on what was called "Embedded Windows 7" not easy to use anymore. Updating to a newer Windows OS is very expensive and almost impossible to do now. I just use an older Teradec Vidiu encoder which you can find for less than $200 here on ebay. Better quality anyway.Just take the HDMI output of the Tricaster into the Vidiu and you are all set.(except for the need for a CDN or Facebook?)THis is truly a total TV production system in one box.*** THe picture showing the 2GB hard drive is incorrect. The 460 will ship with a 750GB drive in the front bay. Included in this package is a CS40 control surface, in case you prefer to do your switching with an external switcher instead of your mouse. This control surface was not made for the 460. IT was made for use with the early mini tricasters. But I use this 4 input switcher with the 460 as well as the 860. Does all the main switching functions - a $400 value all bye itself. No mouse or keyboard included. ANy keyboard will work.Extra USB inputs on back and front. One cat ethernet input for internet.Feel free to send any questions you might have. No PO Boxes Shipped only to 48 states
