Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Proxes R888R radials are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's also essential these tires be stored indoors at temperatures maintained above 15 degrees F. Proxes R888R tires feature an R-compound tread that quickly reaches operating temperature and provides high grip levels for maximum cornering traction. The tread compound is molded into an aggressive, asymmetric tread pattern with massive outboard shoulder blocks to provide the lateral grip needed when driving on the track. Continual development of the contact patch gives the Proxes R888R greater levels of dry traction for improved braking, acceleration and cornering versus its predecessor. While Proxes R888R radials meet D.O.T. requirements, they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions when shaved or worn where standing water is present and there is a risk of hydroplaning. Drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. Internal construction of the R888R features a two- or three-ply (depending on size) Rayon casing supporting two wide, high-tensile steel belts. A spirally-wound nylon reinforcement ply provides additional high-speed stability and durability.
