Description: Wonderful 2001 UK release that collects two early 1970s albums from the great Tom Rush. Merrimack County and Ladies Love Outlaws had been out of print and this CD (not sure if the CD is still in print) is more than a treat. 20 songs, great playing, great songwriting (by Tom and others), and a booklet filled with photos, essays, and lyrics. Perhaps my favorite (but this is what I like) are the gorgeous, poetic softer songs.....they remind me a bit of the Mojave 3 songs that would leave me floored. A bit Gram Parsons, a bit Townes Van Zandt, some 60s / 70s soft feel, it's a nice place to be. The tunes that are less in that zone are excellent as well! Enjoy.
