Description: This Fritz Scholder:Paintings book was purchased directly from Fritz at an opening at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts in 2001. It has only been opened one time. I was very familiar with the artist's works and wanted to meet him, so I went to the event to buy the book, see the retrospective pieces and hear the artist. Being an artist, I knew he would be there early and so I arrived an hour and a half before the "opening." He was wandering around the space, I introduced myself and we chatted for over half an hour. It was a special evening for me. I was at the University of Arizona at the same time Fritz was in graduate school, but did not know him. I knew gallery owner Elaine Horowitz very well, but moved to the Northwest in 1970 and did not have a chance to meet Fritz. The book contains 128 color plates in chronological order. It was published by Nazraeli Press, Tucson, AZ in 2001. This limited edition is signed by Fritz across the page below his portrait. There is a hard fabric slipcase covering the book. The book fits tightly into the case. The book and case are in excellent condition.
