Description: One of America's finest master potters is Raymond E Gallucci of Allentown, PA. With a talen for making pottery and a quest for artistic impression, Mr Gallucci studied the craft under the watchful eye of Harold Mantz.Mr Gallucci was a teacher at the Baum School of Art, a place where many were inspired and influenced by this man. Teaching, however, made him realize there could be more to gain and so he opened the Contemporary Ceramics Studio in the 1950s. He expressed himself via mosaics, pottery and painting, and was a recipient of several awards, one of which was the Pennsylvania's Governor's Award for Excellent in the Arts.Much of his work is i the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Museum.Mr. Gallucci passed away ion 2004 but his artful expressions live on. This ceramic coffee mug is just one of his creations - it is unique! The glazing alone is expressive and certainly an example of his work that demonstrated his talents. The mug is signed and is 4” high and 4" across including the handle. If you are a collector of pottery, this is exceptional. If you appreciate the craft and can feel the emotion, this mug will interact with you! Indeed, a one of a kind and one that stands above so many. It is in perfect condition.
