Good secure boards and spine with minimal lean and minimal bumping. Binding is very good and is Type A, First State. Therefore the spine title is in gilt. Some residue in evidence from previous use of cellotape towards the lower edge (can be removed with a book cleaning solvent). An age stain to the textblock edge (picture 7). Small previous owner inscription on the front pastedown (picture 11). Dustjacket is the original 'Richard Chopping' and in 'Fair only' condition. Not price-clipped (15s). Small piece missing from the lower back (picture 9). Closed tear (1.5 inch) to the lower back. The main issue is the existence of cellotape residues to the inside of the dustjacket (picture 10).
