The sealing tool is cordless and operated with 1xAA (1.5V) battery. To install the battery, unscrew the flat black cover from the bottom end of the tool. Insert battery, positive (+) end first. Replace the bottom cover. When hot, the tip can trim, burn, and melt threads with one touch. To use the Thread Zap simply press and hold the black button located on the side to activate the heating element at the tip. You will usually see a slight wisp of smoke to indicate that the tip is hot enough to use. Continuing to hold the button, briefly touch the tip to the place on the thread where you want to cut, melt, or burn it.
