Author Biography Marwan Hassan (1968) was born in Kuwait. His father was Egyptian and his mother German. He lived in England, Greece, Egypt, UAE, Netherlands and Germany. In Egypt he studied the culture and history of his country and worked as a university teacher and guide. After leaving Egypt and some stops in different countries he completed his studies at the college for public administration in Germany and is working in the public service ever since. After completing his studies in Islamic studies and sociology in distance courses he is at present doing his research for a PhD at the Humboldt University Berlin. He has published a couple of books on bamboo flutes as he plays and builds ancient bamboo flutes since his youth. This is his first English book built upon a German publication of his in 2010.
