Thermwood Model 40 Columbo Piggyback Router Motor

Description: This is a 5 HP high frequency 0 to 18,000 RPM variable speed router spindle. It has the adapter plate for a Thermwood Model 40 piggyback router. It is a drop in replacement for the standard 5HP Perske motor that was original equipment on the early Model 40 CNC routers. It can be wired using the existing harness into the 5 HP 380 volt VFD. The VFD is not included. This Columbo motor was remanufactured by Thermwood. It has new bearings, was thoroughly cleaned, inspected and perfectly balanced for vibration free operation. It will perform to new motor specifications. Over twenty years of operations, our experience was that the Columbo motor lasts at least three times longer than the Perske motor. It is much heavier duty and will stand up better to hard use, especially repetitive plunging operations. The adapter plate, Thermwood part # 6325, is a 3/8" steel plate that uses the same four mounting bolts that attached the original Perske. It positions the Columbo motor threaded spindle very close to the original Perske location. This allows the dust collection hood to fit correctly and needs only minimal movement to zero out the spindle. This adapter place can be removed and the Columbo motor used with out it. It has been in storage as a spare for our Model 40 machines for about two years. I sold my company and the new owner did not purchase the spare parts.
