Author Thames Ross Williamson ( 1894 - 1984), ran away from his home in Genesee, Idaho at 14 an became, successively a tramp, circus hand, sailor, sheepherder, reporter, prison officer. After graduating from the Univ. of Iowa ( 1717 ) and study at Harvard, he taught and wrote texts on sociology and economics. Using his name and pseudonyms, he wrote in dialects often ( He spoke in 10 languages ) He also wrote: Run Sheep Run...The Man Who Cannot Die...Stride Of Man..Hunky....The Earth Told Me...In Krusack's House...Sad American...D Is For Dutch.... Light-red textured cloth book with past-on woodcut illustrations on spine and cover. No dust jacket. Book weighs 1 1/4 pounds. An illustrated collectible Thames Williamson book, set in the Ozark Mountains. This copy is in good condition, with slight discoloration on boards. Front end page is torn, but included.
