The books are sumptuously bound by Trautz-Bauzonnet Bindery in multi-colored full leather with gilt lettering & gilt and black ornamentation. The front & rear pastedowns of all volumes are covered with white leather and gilt & black ornamentation & borders. All edges are gilt. Each volume contains mounted color plates plus B&W line drawings in the text. As an added bonus, there is a handwritten, signed letter (and its envelope) by Walter Scott, the author's son dealing with money owed to the family from the estate of their late mother.
