Description: A very scarce copy of the original appearance of “Say, My Brother, Will You Meet Me…” which was to form the basis of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic." 1859 Queen City Publishing. Signed and dated in pencil June 1st, 1859 by Charles Dunbar. There is an additional dedication from Charlotte O’Neal on the following page. Fair/None. This leather bound volume has some wear at the extremities and minimal markings in pencil to the text. There is some foxing and tanning to the paper. The front hinge is starting and in need of reinforcement. I have held on to this gem as a prominent part of my personal book collection for many years. I have decided to part with this treasured volume due to the recent arrival of my firstborn son:) I would love to find the book a permanent home who has enjoyed and cared for the volume as much as I have.
