Description: The Smiths Meat Is Murder ORIGINAL artwork graphic layout 1985. This is a completely unique piece of Smiths memorabilia ready to be framed. The original artwork test layout used by graphic designers in prep for the Rough Trade cd design. These might have alternate photos or text and be used as a work in progress to present to label and artist for approval before going to print. The fact that this was for CD in 1985 is also quite rare when indie companies were only just starting to use cd."Meat Is Murder" was the 2nd full length album by The Smiths and went to no.1 on release in the spring of 1985. It's controversial Warhol-esque sleeve was replaced by a single image for the cd. There are 4 small tears to this piece, all of which can be disguised with tape once framed. This is a period piece now nearly 40 years old. Condition is "Good". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class poster tube.
