Description: For sale is a vinyl record by The Roches titled "Keep On Doing", originally released in 1982 by Warner Brothers Records. According to the liner notes, It is produced by Robert Fripp and he plays guitar and devices on it too. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any insert(s) or original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers WW-3 #2/WW-1, followed by what appears to be a tipped over martini glass. This "glass" actually represents a Winchester rifle. All these etchings signify that an early stamper was used to make this first edition that was pressed at Capitol Record's Winchester, Virginia plant. These are hallmarks of state-of-the art engineering and record pressing, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. The inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as Excellent because of some faint ring wear and some corner blunts. The spine has color loss from these cracks and a small tear in the middle. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of a surface scratch across the last track on side one called "On the Road to Fairfax". I'm play-grading it as VG+ because of 30 seconds of rotational ticking at the end of "On the Road to Fairfax" and a little ticking at the beginning of side two. Otherwise the rest of the record plays through as Near Mint. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This album is still one of the best copies of this hard to find record and you would be hard pressed to find a Winchester pressing of this first edition. This would make a great addition to a anyone's collection. I have more Folk albums, as well as records of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're mostly Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
