Dimensions: 8x10 inches ISBN: 978-1-62838-060-6 ABOUT THE BOOK In the town of Hunter there lives a young orphan named Julie. Although she is very poor, she supports herself by working in the local farms and feeding the pigs. The other kids in town like to tease her for her job and the way she smells, but that all changes on one unusual day… After wishing that one day she could become someone special, the wonderful, magical blue pig, Amanda, begins to help turn Julie’s life and luck around. There is a true and obvious message of not feeling accepted by others. Julie teaches us that it is important to look at ourselves in a positive way, and understand that we all have so much to contribute despite what others may say about us. We must believe it and when we do there is nothing that will stand in the way of our bright future. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Noris A. DeJesus-Petrone was born in Bronx, New York. Although she spent eight years in Puerto Rico, the remainder of her life has been in New York. The author has been writing since she was ten years old. As a student in college, she was a double major in Psychology and English, with a concentration in Creative Writing. As she matured, she witnessed bullying first-hand and learned of the cruelties that a group can inflict upon an individual. This helped shape both her writing and her career path. The author is currently a practicing Marriage & Family Counselor, as well as an adjunct professor at two separate colleges. She mentors students during their thesis process. She is married to her wonderful husband, Craig A. Petrone. At the time of publication, they celebrated the birth of their first child, Marcus Blake Petrone. The author considers her mother, Noris DeJesus, and her father, Leoncio DeJesus, her best friends in many ways. She would be remiss if she did not also thank her mother-in-law, Patricia Petrone, and her father-in-law, Wesley Petrone, for their continued support.
