Description: This auction is for a Signed First Edition volume of "The Orpheus C. Kerr Letters" (letters 1 - 52) by Robert Henry Newell. Published in 1862. This volume includes the author's signature on the original owner's bookplate. Tipped into the front free endpaper is a note written by the author's brother-n-law (on behalf of the author) in 1901, excusing his writing his signature in (blue) pencil because of a severe long-term affliction of writer's cramp making writing in pen painful. Half calf with marbled boards, morocco spine label lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt. I have never seen another signed copy of this volume. Faults listed above, otherwise clean pages and good binding. Purchased at auction. Feel free to ask any questions. Good luck and thanks for bidding! You can bid with confidence. I have been an eBay member in good standing since the 1990's, and continue to receive terrific feedback both as a buyer and a seller. I am not a professional dealer; just a regular guy who buys and sells stuff on eBay when I have something to sell or find something to buy. If you need more photos of an item please just ask.
