Description: This is the Original (1sh) 1957 Lobby Card THE LAND UNKNOWN. It was used by Universal International to promote this movie when it was released in 1957. It is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars William Reynolds, Shawn Smith, Jock Mahoney, Henry Brandon, Phil Harvey, and Douglas Kennedy. It was directed by Virgel Vogel. This unrestored movie Lobby Card measures 11" x 14". It comes with an unattached stiff cardboard backing.This original movie Lobby Card is graded C7.5, Very Fine Minus. Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc. You might think that grade is a tad high particularly with the pin holes in the image area (7) and that blue ink drawn into that small picture. But the 7 pin holes are truly hard to spot when viewing the Lobby Card at a normal viewing distance or even closer. I had to look at the reverse several times to make sure I could spot and photograph the 7 pin holes as I could not easily see them very close up. The blue ink lines are not overly obtrusive. Restoration of the Lobby Card would repair and eliminate all of the aforementioned flaws. For Lobby Cards, restoration is sometimes a little more expensive due to the thicker paper that Lobby Cards need to have repaired. But if you are interested in this Lobby Card and would like to have it restored we can (1) have it restored for you and add the cost of restoration to the price of the Lobby Card or (2) refer you to one of the professional restoration companies that we use, with great results.After a while we may also have this Lobby Card restored ourselves, but that obviously would increase the cost of this Title Lobby Card. I would estimate restoration to address all the aforementioned flaws would be about $200 or so. We believe that the original 1957 Title Lobby Card of THE LAND UNKNOWN has good value and investment value.
