This drive works! But I can't promise HOW WELL IT WILL WRITE because of the design flaw. It would get almost to the end of the disc then fail sometimes, but sometimes it finishes ok. I remember the fix was to lubricate one of the small plastic parts inside the drive, then it worked most of the time. I didn't have a permanent fix for it though. You'll need to research how to fix it properly if you want it to work without the risk of writing ''coasters''. Otherwise this is a vintage collectible in its own right. It is what it is. It's possible to completely remove the drive from the housing, then replacing the drive with one that works more reliably.
