Description: Audie Murphy is Union officer Lt. Frank Hewitt, who refuses his officer's orders to massacre Native Americans at Sand Creek, Texas - though this does not prevent the massacre from actually taking place. Disillusioned, he deserts his unit knowing that the massacre will only incite the tribe to take revenge upon American citizens. He decides to head home to warn his friends & family about the oncoming Indian attack, but he finds his home-town filled only with women as all the men are off to fight in the civil war. Worse, everyone considers him a traitor for siding with the Union over the Confederacy. But with the impending tribal attack, Hewitt must rally the townfolk and turn the loose collection of housewives and harlots into a fighting force if they are to survive the forthcoming deadly assault!
