Description: A fine copy in fine dust jacket of the first edition/first printing of the one of the biggest publishing phenomena of all time. One of the best copies of the first printing I've seen since its release. NOTE: This is NOT a book club and NOT an x-lib copy. The Da Vinci Code The Second Robert Langdon Novel by Dan Brown (preceded Angles & Demons, and followed by The Lost Symbol, Inferno, and Origin) Hardcover First Edition - First Printing New York: Doubleday, 2003. 434 pages. $24.95 cover price. Trade size about 9 1/2 x 6" or 24 x 15cm. (Also published in the UK by Bantam/Transworld.) Issue Points: States "April 2003 First Edition" on the copyright page with the printing number-line going from "10" down to "1" indicating a first printing. Includes the "skitoma" error on page 243. (the correct word is scotoma, which Sir Leigh Teabing uses as an analogy for "seeing what someone wants to see." In this context, he's pointing out that one of the disciples next to Christ in the Last Supper appears to be female when a viewer looks closely!) Fine in Fine Dust Jacket. A superior copy by every measure. The book itself appears to be unread (unusual for this book because of the massive popularity). Boards are straight and clean, sharp corners, the lettering on the spine is very bright. The dust jacket is just about as perfect as you could ask for, NO tears, NO chips, No creases, essentially flawless and bright and clean. On the back of the jacket, just a touch of the typical sullying at the folds, typical for most books which are 10+ years old. Priced to sell. ALSO: The pictures are of the actual item for sale. (The pictures are NOT stock photos.) NOTE: When "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown was published in 2003, it became one of the biggest publishing phenomena of all time, up there with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone, The Bridges of Madison County, Love Story, the Left Behind series, and The Thorn Birds. As of 2016, reportedly 80 million copies of "Da Vinci Code" had sold. It was made into a wonderful movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou in 2006. Since its release, the book has been reprinted numerous times. This is the true first edition/first printing. In general I do NOT sell bookclub editions or cheap reprints like Modern Library except in rare instances which would be explicitly stated as such. In general, I also DO NOT sell x-library copies. If the book is both a first edition AND a first printing, it will be marked as “first edition” in the Item Specifics under “Special Attributes”, otherwise assume a later printing or a later edition.
