Volume 1 is "Historical", Volume 3 is "Biographical" These 2 volumes are sound and dry. The covers are Good with light scuffing at the corners. The gilding on the covers is bright and bold. The binding, endpapers and hinges are all great. The pages do generally have some waviness as these old thick Books get but no moisture stains. The pages are bright and clean. A few pages have folds of the history of them. I see at least 2 pages with short tears. These Volumes are from a non-smoking home and appear to have a history of a non-smoking home. A previous owner's stamp is in one Book. Overall: Nice looking Books in solid condition. Please see the photos for more description.
