First Edition. 279 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering. Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages have noticeable tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Minor loss to page 63 but text is unaffected. Heavy thumb-marking present with heavy brown staining. Text still legible. Cracking to gutters, however pages remain attached. Small tears to edges of some pages. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Heavy black marks and staining to boards. Book is bowed with a pronounced forward leaning.
