Description: This is "The Caribben Breeze" Vol. 4, Number 9, October 1944. This magazine is from World War II and was published by and for the Sixth Air Force. The cover art depicts a rural scene with a farmer leading his oxen and wagon to market--there is a descriptive paragraph inside the front cover. The magazine measures about 8 by 10 1/2 inches and has 32 pages plus material printed on the inside of the cover and a photo of Susanna Foster printed on the inside of the back cover. Some of the articles included in this issue are: an interesting editorial, "News of the Day," "Sensitive Plant," "Through the Locks," and "This Land of Costa Rica." There are articles regarding sports, short stories, cartoons and pieces about the region. All articles include captioned photos or artwork and photos make up the last several pages. The magazine is mostly black and white except for the cover art and sketch pages. This is an original item from 1944, brought home by a soldier stationed in Panama and Ecuador and carefully stored for all this time. It is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. The colors in the cover are rich, details are crisp. The upper corner is bumped; all edges and other corners are sharp. The spine is in very good shape and the binding is snug. The magazine is complete as published. Other than the bumped corner, the pages of this magazine are in Excellent condition. There are no tears or markings on the pages.
