Description: The Bump Box is for a transbrake drag race car. There are many ways the Bump Box can be used to stage. You can use it to bump into the staging lights in a pro light race. You can spool up your turbocharger or blower to your limiter and then bump to the starting line. You are ready to let go of the transbrake button when you bump in if they drop the lights quickly on you. The Bump Box will interrupt either the positive or the negative wire on the trans brake solenoid. The 20/30 amp relay is normally closed. When the bump button is pressed it starts the timer, opens the relay and then closes the relay when the timer times out. This amount of time is the bump time or bump distance. Most transbrake solenoids only have a positive wire but some have a ground too. You can interrupt either the positive or the negative wire simply by cutting and splicing the white with black stripe big wire and the big black wire from the 20/30 amp relay to the two ends of the cut wire. It does not matter which way you splice the wires because this circuit is just a simply SPST NC switched relay.
