Description: The Big World and the Little House, by Ruth Krauss, pictures by Marc Simont. Harper & Brothers, New York 1949. Hardcover, no dust jacket, unpaginated but 40 pages. Not ex-library; no library markings anywhere. This is a wonderful story of how three generations of a family brought a dilapidated house back to life. It appears that this title has never been reprinted. The interior appears to be near-perfect: the delightful color illustrations, on every page, are clear and bright; no discoloration, tears, chips, loose pages, writing or odor; tiny corner folds at tops of three pages. The binding is strong but a bit cocked; black lettering on front and spine is sharp and clear; wear at corners, top and bottom of spine.
