The Bennett Band Book Number 3 Baritone (Bass Clef) Fillmore Music House 1970’s

Description: While attending Curtin Elementary School in Altoona, PA, I participated in the music program where I started to learn how to play the Baritone horn instrument. Upon entering Roosevelt Junior High School, I joined the school’s marching band under the direction of Mr. Ray Detwiler. I continued to take private music lessons from a Mr. Delaposta. As my ability to read music increased, he asked to have my parent’s purchase a series of Bennett Band Books. I kept all these music books from not only my private music lessons, but the sheet music provided while I participated in Roosevelt’s Marching Band, Altoona Area High School Marching Band, Altoona Area High School Orchestra and the German Mountaineers Band. All these music books and sheet music collected were placed in a sealed plastic bag within an air tight plastic container and stored in my parents’ house until the death of my Mom in 2006. While clearing out my parents’ house for sale in September 2006, I brought these containers back to our Manassas, VA home. I have retained these containers for over 15 plus years; however, upon relocating from Manassas, VA to Fort Myers, FL the condominium we purchased in Fort Myers does not have the adequate closet or storage space to indefinitely retain this music collection. Subsequently, I have decided to post these music books and sheet music for sale on eBay. The next item for sale is The Bennett Band Book Number 3 Baritone (Bass Clef). The front green cover of The Bennett Band Book Number 3 Baritone (Bass Clef), a collection of original compositions for band by Harold Bennett is shown in the first attached high resolution photograph. My Mom purchased this book at the Russell Music Store in Altoona, PA in September 1973. A faded black stamp marking from that music store is exhibited at the bottom of the front cover and contains the following text: “RUSSELL MUSIC STORE PHONE 942 4339 1734 12th AVE ALTOONA PA.”. The front cover also exhibits the list of the Instrumentation including the Conductor. In addition, These Bennett Band Books are distributed by the FILLMORE MUSIC HOUSE - Carl Fischer, Inc., New York 3, N.Y. The book’s dimensions are approximately 7 inches wide by 5 ¼ inches high. The band book’s front cover shows show minor wear from normal musician use. The rear side of the front green cover contains no text or music. Note: The two staples on the band book’s left side (center spine) exhibit some minor surface rust. Exhibited are the names of the 16 original compositions included in this book. The band book’s rear cover shows show minor wear from normal musician use. The back side of the rear green cover contains no text or music. The first music composition is shown in the third attached high resolution photograph. In addition to the music composition “SUCCESS”, the top of this page (unnumbered page 1) contains the following text: “FOR CONTENTS SEE BACK COVER”. The bottom of this page contains the following text: “All rights throughout the world controlled by Carl Fisher, Inc., 56-62 Cooper Square, New York 3. N.Y. Just above this is the following text: “Fillmore Music House, Cin.O. and “Printed in the U.S.A.” The music compositions on pages 2 and 3 within The Bennett Band Book Number 3 Baritone (Bass Clef) are shown in the fourth attached high resolution photograph. As shown in the previous photographs, the band book exterior front and rear covers are in very good condition and the individual music composition pages are in excellent condition. This vintage band book of original compositions would make an excellent addition for the novice or professional music collector.
