The Beatles ’64 Air Date 11/29/24: This ALL-NEW documentary captures the electrifying moment of The Beatles’ first fan frenzied visit to America. It chronicles their unprecedented rise to global superstardom after performing on The Ed Sullivan Show to over 73 million viewers. Featuring NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN footage of the band and the legions of young fans who helped fuel their ascendance, the film gives a rare glimpse into when The Beatles became the most influential and beloved band of all time. On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived in New York City to unprecedented excitement and hysteria. From the instant they landed at Kennedy Airport, met by thousands of fans, Beatlemania swept New York and the entire country. Their thrilling debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show captivated more than 73 million viewers, the most watched television event of its time. Beatles ’64 presents the spectacle, but also tells a more intimate behind the scenes story, capturing the camaraderie of John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they experienced unimaginable fame. The film includes rare footage filmed by pioneering documentarians Albert and David Maysles, beautifully restored in 4K by Park Road Post in New Zealand. The live performances from The Beatles first American concert at the Washington, DC Coliseum and their Ed Sullivan appearances were demixed by WingNut Films and remixed by Giles Martin. Spotlighting this singular cultural moment and its continued resonance today, the music and footage are augmented by NEWLY FILMED INTERVIEWS with Paul and Ringo, as well as fans whose lives were transformed by The Beatles. Beatles ’64 is directed by David Tedeschi and produced by Martin Scorsese, Margaret Bodde, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, Mikaela Beardsley, with Jeff Jones and Rick Yorn serving as executive producers. CBS Sunday Morning (Here Comes The Sun In-Depth Version) 06/18/23: Rediscovering Paul McCartney's photos of The Beatles' 1964 invasion photography exhibition. Paul McCartney used his Pentax camera the same way he used his guitar: with total freedom. And in early 1964, the 21-year-old took his new camera on perhaps the most momentous musical journey of the 20th century: The Beatles' invasion of America. Hundreds of his photographs from that trip were recently rediscovered in McCartney's archive: "It was really nice," he said, "because I thought they were lost." An exhibition of the images, collected in the book, "1964: Eyes of the Storm," originated at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The show is now on view at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. He offered a tour of the exhibit to CBS correspondent Anthony Mason. McCartney explained his process: "Taking photographs, I'd be just looking for a shot. And so, I'd aim the camera and just sort of see where I liked it, you know, oh, that's it. And invariably, you pretty much take one picture. "We were moving fast. So, you just learned to take pictures quickly.” Paul McCartney gives correspondent Anthony Mason a personal tour of an exhibition of the former Beatle's photographs. One picture was taken as the group arrived at the Deauville Hotel in Miami. Mason said, "I think your quote in the book was, 'I can almost hear her scream.’" "Yeah, you can!" McCartney laughed. "The cop is going to restrain her, you know?” Fans greet The Beatles in Miami in 1964. “I also love the cop in the foreground who just sort of looks puzzled by everything," said Mason. "I like the architecture of that hotel," said McCartney. "But, you know, as we were saying before, that had to be taken really quickly, just to snap that.” "But, you have to have an eye to take that.” "It's my left one!” The Beatles had started their trip in Paris. "And it was in Paris that we got the telegram, 'Congratulations, boys, number one in the U.S. charts.’" Setting up for their first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in New York City. In America they played "The Ed Sullivan Show." Seventy-three million people would tune in… Total Running Time including BONUS MATERIAL: TWO HOURSThis DVD is REGION FREE Playable in ALL standard DVD Players WORLD WIDEThe above description and photos are used with permission from Music Video Resource on line Please Note: Your item will be delivered in frost case as shown in the photos.
