The musical opened it's pre-Broadway tryout on 05/11/76 in Los Angeles and closed on 11/13/76 in DC without ever opening on Broadway. The NYC premiere, produced by The York Theatre Company, opened on 03/24/85 and ran for only 20 performances. The cast includes Jack Weston, Joyce Leigh Bowden, Kevin Gray, Charles Goff, Hal Robinson, Judith Lander, Gabriel Barre, Florence Anglin, Bert Fraser, Paul O'Keefe, Pamela Clifford, Mayla McKeehan and Gail Pennington. Music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Joseph Stein (based on the play and film La Femme du Boulanger by Marcel Pagnol and Jean Giono). Directed by Stephen Schwartz and choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett. The program is complete. This is NOT a reproduction!! Note: This is a regular Playbill size program.
