The reign of Louis XV in France is emphasized, as are the reigns of George I and II in England, along with accounts of James III and Charles III, both pretenders to the British throne. We also find out about the rise of the Hohenzollern family in Brandenburg-Prussia. And the Durants treat us to some lesser known facts, such as the survival of serfdom in Hungary. Although the volume is long (over 900 pages of text), it's quite readable and written in the enjoyable style typical of the Durants... Tight, solid, clean, with bright unmarked pages.
