This fossilized live oak wood is found exclusively within a small area of Montgomery County Texas, originating out of the Beaumont Geological Formation (Sands). The Beaumont Formation was formed during the Pleistocene Era (Ice Age). A very unique petrified wood due to the young geological layer it is found within. The area was an ancient oak forest that was very rapidly covered by sand and water and petrified over time. It is agatized stone, a very hard dense stone that does not disintegrate. Ideal as a centerpiece within an aquarium, terrarium, aquascape, or simply as natural art. Items have been cleaned and sanitized, but never altered in any way. If pictures appear to be wet, the item is just wet with water and nothing more. See title for details of this specific item. If you have any other questions, please send me a message. I typically respond very quickly unless exploring some forgotten part of Texas ;) Subscribe and watch my auctions for fossils, relics, petrified wood, or who knows what else waiting to be discovered. Typically posting every week.
