Description: This diptych by Canadian painter Tessar Lo, entitled "Up and Down," depicts a beautiful Asian girl in a dreamlike portrait with, on the one hand, a moonlit night sky reflected in her face, and, on the other, a verdant jungle scene. Collaged paper leaves float across the surface as if the superimposed image is reflected in the water of a lake or stream. Lo is a contemporary of contemporary artists James Jean and David Choe, and his work from this period is influenced by his appreciation of the Japanese ukiyo-e artists and the French post-impressionist painter Paul Gauguin. For more information on the artist: http://www.erraticphenomena.com/2009/04/tessar-los-future-perfect.html I purchased these paintings from LeBasse Projects gallery during the artist's 2009 exhibition "Future Perfect." The images of the framed works above are as they were presented in the entryway of the "Future Perfect" exhibition. The two paintings, which display handsomely together, are mixed media on paper, floated on a white background, and are 22x30 inches each as presented in simple white frames under clear acrylic. If you are local to Los Angeles, you can pick up these paintings for free. I wish I didn't have to sell them, but my office is downsizing and I have no room to hang these artworks in our new space. This paintings are in excellent condition, as received from the gallery.
