Description: Tavannes 3 "La Captive", Sterling Silver 925, cal. 816 fully serviced, from 1930's In the 1930s, Tavannes brought to market a small gem, an exquisite and rare pocket watch, named "LA CAPTIVE" all in solid silver (925) and black-red lacquer. Rectangular with two panels that flip open by pressing the spring loaded sides of the case, to display the movement in the dial which can be tilted and held by the panels, making it a table clock. Note the presence of a metal ring that allows the watch to be attached to a chain. The entire case is made of solid silver 925 and mostly coated with black-red lacquer, partly decorated with art deco motifs. As you can see in the photos the watch has a lot of wear, marks and scratches, especially on the lacquer.The dial, although patinated and marked, along with the black hands, is still extremely charming, conveying the feel of the era in which it was made. The glass is the old original and domed. Inside the caliber cover, under the caliber, the chassis and the 2 caps that cover the watch, the watch's serial number is engraved and can be seen in the photos. This particular model is equipped with a manually wound mechanical chronometer caliber Tavannes. Caliber 816 has been fully serviced and runs strong with excellent accuracy.I will accept a reasonable offer.
