Frame shows it's age but no damage.No glass included in shipment. See photos. Painter, etcher and graphic designer Johanna ( Tanna ) Kasimer Hoernes ( 1887 – 1972 ) was born in Graz , Austria. She studied with the Austrian artist Ludwig Michalek at the School for Woman and Girls and went on to the Vienna Academy of Art where she met Luigi Kasimer. In 1911 Tanna and Kasimer married and worked together to break new ground within the world of printmaking by developing the revolutionary technique of color etching. Previous to their work etchings were mostly executed in black and white. Traveling throughout Europe and the United States both Tanna and Luigi created a huge body of work documenting architecture and natural views from their adventures. ------------------------------------------------- The Goethe House (Goethes Wohnhaus) is the main house lived in by the writer, poet, and statesman Johann Wolfgang von Goethe whilst in Weimar, Germany, though he did live in several others in the town. The home serves as the main location of the Goethe-Nationalmuseum.
