Description: Upsala-Ekeby Vase A stunning Scandinavian vase in a very deep shade of red, produced by Upsala-Ekeby, designed by Sven Erik Skawonius in 1954, shape 799. Skawonius was at Upsala-Ekeby on and off between 1935 - 1971, working as artistic director for an extended period in the 50s which were the peak period of design. He also worked for Kosta Glasbruk from 1933-1935 and 1944-1950. A wonderful piece of mid-century Swedish design, an organic form with a textured surface, examples are now hard to find, if not rare. In very good vintage condition, near pristine. Close inspection reveals some very light surface wear, a tiny glaze loss, a small area of discolouration — both pictured, no crazing or cracks. Size: 28 cm high, 12.5 cm diam, weight 750g Please view all the photos before purchasing, they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are purely light reflections from the camera flash. Shipping: includes tracking worldwide.
