The banknotes obverse features the bank headquarters building located at the Waterkant in Paramaribo. A toucan in gold foil and a flower are also visible. The reverse of the note depicts a long-billed gnatwren bird sitting on a tree branch, the national emblem, mechanized banana harvesting, and the bank seal. The banknote is 147 x 68 mm in size and was printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company Limited. It carries a windowed security thread with a demetalized CBVS. It also has a watermark that reveals a toucan and an electrotype CBVS. This Suriname 5,000 Gulden is in uncirculated condition.
