It is located inside, mid case and holds the main center support in position. Techs report having to replace due to cracking and fatigue. The Superior HD SuperTuff snap ring is made in the U.S.A. of high quality carbon steel and will give the user assurance that the unit is built to stay out on the road instead of being towed back to the shop in a couple of months.
