Description: A beautiful and understated Scottish treasure! This extremely special antique wedding band is made from solid 22 carat gold, a rich, strong yellow that seems to glow from within and dates to around 1850, a time when they did things differently and you can feel that magic as soon as you get this in your hand. Its deep patina gives history and authenticity, while its incredible, charming inner markings give a clue to its exact time and place. The maker's mark M&C are for Edinburgh goldsmiths Mackay and Chisholm who were founded in 1835. This is flanked by the younger head of Queen Victoria and the Edinburgh thistle - a lack of date letter was common in this time and although I do believe this piece to have been resized at some point in its past, I don't think any marks have been lost. It's a lovely quality, understated and slim band yet with body and structure. It wears incredibly easy and looks like it was made just for that finger as soon as you put it on. It's a size 6.5 resizable, weighs in at 1.6 grams, and measures 1.8 mm wide, standing 1.2 mm high off the finger. All my items are guaranteed 100% as described or your money back, so buy with confidence!
