Then at the end of September-beginning of October they produce second, smaller crop, few dozen figs per bush.This bush is producing literally hundreds of medium-size delicious figs every season. The cutting diameter is between those of a thin pencil (5-8 mm, usually branch tips with a top bud) and up to 1.5 times fat marker diameter. The bark of the cuttings is brown or brown-green, and several cuttings can be green (the softwood is more suitable for summer rooting)I live in the northern part of Virginia, Zone 7, and this tree is doing fine. Winter frosts did not damage this tree.These plants will grow faster in sunny locations. Semi-shade is also OK.With respect to the taste - they taste delicious to me.Sorry, I am not a French cook who can describe the symphony of fig flavors :)For me several pounds (per bush) of good figs is better than five or ten (per bush) fancy tasting figs. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Please note that different people use different rooting methods - from dump paper in a zip-lock bag placed on top of refrigerator to a sophisticated ultrasonic fog system.
