First issue dust jacket with the correct “$12.95” price. The first printing of "A" Is for Alibi was 7,500 copies, with initial sales of about 6,000. The book has some minor shelf wear and touch of wrinkling to the top of the spine but is otherwise rather nice. The boards are wonderfully straight and clean. The binding is square and firm. There are some light stains to the edge of the text block but it is otherwise clean and free of writing or markings internally. The dust jacket has edge wear with a shallow chip and a pair of short tears that have been discreetly mended on the verso. All together a very good example of a book which is notoriously fickle in a presentable and acceptable example of the uncommon first issue dust jacket. This was the first appearance of Grafton’s famous detective Kinsey Millhone and was the first installment in the "Alphabet mystery" series. Sadly, the series would end only one letter short with Grafton’s death in 2017. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy.
