A paper label verso indicates the frame maker to be John Wilson of Edinburgh, Scotland but the painter is unknown as this well executed works lacks any signature. The painting is executed in watercolor on paper laid to board measuring 21.25 x 14.5 inches while its stunning gold gilt frame measures 30.25 x 23.5 inches making this work ready to be hung and enjoyed! The overall quality including detail and composition is excellent creating a charming and relaxing image inviting the viewer in. The condition of the painting is excellent while the period frame shows loss of gesso and wear. While the frame is extremely attractive I can not promise this to hold up in shipping, expect some additional loss of gesso even when well packed.
