Description: Stunning antique hand-painted blue vase in the Art Nouveau style, manufactured by the Ernest (Ernst) Wahliss factory of Vienna, Austria. The red shield coat of arms mark on the bottom (EW, Turn Vienna) dates this piece to the period 1899-1918. This vase is a beauty with painted blue and white flowers on a ground with varied shades of blue, surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies. The flowers are highlighted with gilt enamel details and brushed gilt around the rim and the base. It measures about 7 1/2" tall and has a squat shape measuring about 7" across at its widest point in the center. This vase is in excellent condition with no damage to the porcelain and no wear to the painted scene, just a bit of scratching to the gold paint around the inner rim. This is a very unique piece that would be the highlight of any antique decorative ceramic collection!
