Description: This is a handmade black-ish clay bowl stamped/signed by a little known Hungarian potter by the name of Lajos Kovats. I did find that he signs his pieces with his name backwards. I say black-ish because it does have a brownish-gray earthy undertone to it and not a jet black. It has a beautiful, yet simple, flower and line design on it with a mid-century modern vibe to it. He is known for his Post Modern style. Although it could go in any design period decor. Not sure when it was made. If anyone has any information on this potter I would love to know - I am always learning! The piece has a beautiful rich matte finish to it which serves as a perfect backdrop for the glossy parts to the design. . NOTE: I do have 2 other Kovats pieces in my listings. No chips , cracks or scratches. Measures 5.75” in diameter and 1.75” in height/depth. Please look at photos carefully as they are part of the items' description. If you have any questions please ask before you purchase. Shipping prices reflect the extra time, care and packing material needed to make sure your purchase arrives at your home undamaged. In some cases, weight and distance can be a factor - shipped from Florida. I try to use recycled packing material whenever possible. The package is not pretty sometimes, but it works!
