Description: Stoneware Water Bottle, J. Friedrich Grosskarben Frankfurt, Chipped Mouth 1800's. About 11-1/2" tall. Decent condition. See pics for condition. Several articles found say these particular bottles might have held mineral water. This is an estate piece from a Civil War buff's collection north of Nashville TN.It is a beautifulvintage brown stoneware mineral water jug from Germany with inscription on the front and several symbols inscribed as well. Tall 11 inch brown stoneware jug for holding water and keeping it cool. Old cork in place. I am guessing this artifact is from the 1860s and that is why it was in his collection. Please see photos for condition of the actual item you will be receiving. Weight is 2 lb 10 oz before packaging. 11 3" diameter Packaged carefully. Offers always considered. Thank you for looking.
