He wears a festive frock, yet the tone is nostalgic rather than celebratory. Part of my ‘Other People’s Art’ Series, where I take another person’s idea and run with it, in my own direction. In this case - adding various found objects and paint to reflect the silly-serious mood: dragon on the head, fish in the hair, and a Mondrian-esque abstract block. This will add an air of discomfort to any space it’s hung, along with a few double-takes as viewers process the juxtaposition of competing concepts.
