Description: VTG Southwest Sterling Silver, Genuine Red Bamboo Coral & Genuine Turquoise Pendant Necklace with FREE SHIPPING. Very nice, very old, handcrafted pendant necklace with natural red bamboo coral slices separated by Sterling Silver spacer beads and a large genuine turquoise pendant drop, strung on wire, measures 18"+ and weighs 65 grams. STERLING: Clasp is stamped 925 and appears to have been replaced. The clasp, chain and spacer beads all test positive for 925 Sterling using an acid scratch test. RED BAMBOO CORAL: There is no dye transfer with an acetone test on the coral slices. In its natural state, bamboo coral boasts a delicate white or pale orange hue, however, some varieties exhibit deep orange or red tones. Natural red-colored deep sea coral is considered an endangered species and it is no longer legal to mine this variety. TURQUOISE: The consensus in our network is that this is genuine polished Candelaria turquoise from NV, USA. Opinions vary on stabilized vs. not. Vintage metal pieces (Sterling, Copper, Gold) have not been cleaned. We gently wipe with a polishing cloth thereby allowing the buyer to determine the level of patina they desire. Our items are "not for scrap".We are not gemologists, nor jewelers, and opinions provided on stones, gems and metal purity are based on our limited knowledge and the scope of our testing equipment.
